Wailings

Wailings transfer the forces from the sheet pile wall to the anchors and also stiffen and align the wall. Generally, wailings are provided in the form of tension members on the inside of the main wall, but on anchor walls they are generally provided in the form of compression members at the rear of the wall.

Normally, a wailing is in the form of two latticed steel channels, positioned with their webs perpendicular to the sheet pile wall.

The necessary spacing between the two channel sectors is activated with further channel sections or web plates (so-called latticing) welded to the channels at intervals depending on the pile width. Unless DIN EN 10025 compliant steels are used here, Stabau Africa can deliver wailings with CE Marking.

The wailing connection is usually done by bolted U-Profiles.
